Thang 16 - Worldily

I have just finished exploring the geotagging feature on Flickr.  At first glance, it seems like a good way to further organize and communicate about images.  It was also very easy to use and intuitive.  I watched the videos about them, but don't even feel like I needed to.  While I was tagging however, I could not help but to think about my 14 year-old, not very worldly stepdaughter.  It had to be explained to her that she needed to be careful of what images of herself to post on her mySpace and Facebook accounts and who she invited as friends, as there are sexual predators out there.  I appreciated the function that only friends and family can see these, but sometimes we are a little lax about who we call "friends" online.  I think about my Facebook account.  Though I have a lot of people on there, I wouldn't necessarily want them all to know where I live.  I imagine I would be rather careful, but on the geotagging, it only takes one small mistake for an unsavory person to know where to look for you.  I can't imagine encouraging my stepdaughter to use this functionality considering what some of my old high school "friends" are up to these days.

So without further ado... Thang # 16, Worldily!  He has been a lot of different places and has come back as a changed man, but you still need to be careful of the venom inside of him.
